Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan is a legendary Bollywood actor born in 1942 in Uttar Pradesh, India. He has had an illustrious career spanning over 50 years and over 200 films. Some of his most iconic roles were in films like Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Don, and Pink where he portrayed complex characters. He was initially rejected from the film industry due to his voice and height but went on to become the biggest superstar of Indian cinema, often referred to as the "Shehenshah" or "Star of the Millennium." He continues to act in films even now at the age of 80 and is considered an evergreen actor in India.

He is well-known internationally, active in helping out in social issues and also connects well with the masses. • His appearance on the TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, helped him earn more fame. He is generally regarded as the star of the Millennium or the megastar. • Amitabh Bachchan is the first living Asian whose statue was modelled in London’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The Government of India honoured Bachchan with Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contributions to the arts. • Bachchan is an evergreen versatile actor. He has acted in movies like “Pink” and “Piku” which have contributed towards the betterment of the society. He was nominated for the Filmfare best actor award for “Pink” which was immensely influential.

- 9. • Before hetried to get in Bollywood he was rejected by All India Radio station because of his voice. • He was rejected during his first few auditions because he was too tall. • He had to spent many nights in Marine drive when he first came to Mumbai. • He delivered 12 consecutive failures before his big break in Zanjeer. • In the 80s because of his injury and illness, he was forced to take a hiatus from film he later regretted.
