Carbon exists in several allotropic forms including crystalline forms such as diamond, graphite, and fullerenes as well as amorphous forms like soot, charcoal, coal, and coke. Within charcoal there are different types like wood charcoal produced from burning wood, sugar charcoal from burned sugar, and bone charcoal made from burned bone.
