TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERII:
It is with great pleasure that I write in support of Mr Wayne Stewart who has been employed at
Kearsney College as a teacher of Engineering Graphics and Design since 2005. Prior to this,
Wayne was employed at Kearsney as a Student Master, whilst still a teacher-in-training.
Kearsney College is an independent boys' high school with the majority of its boys boarding and
the balance attending school as day scholars. The College is 87 years old and is regarded as one
of the top independent boys' schools on the continent of Africa.
Wayne is an outstanding teacher of Engineering Graphics and Design, with experience teaching
Grades 8 and 9 (Design Technology) and Grades l0 to 12 (EGD). He prepares boys to write the
school leaving certificate known as the National Senior Certificate set by the Independent
Examination Board based in Johanneqburg. Inncvative in his approach to teaching he has
ensured that no teaching technology is beyond his e*pertise. As Head of Department
Technology, he started the Engineering Graphics and Design department at Kearsney and was
instrumental in the purchase and introduction of the latest CAD software. He also developed the
Design and Technology and Engineering Graphics Intranet Website. Responsibilities involved in
running the department include setting departmental budgets, academic matters such as exam
setting and moderation, and the maintenance of the Design and Technology workshop's
machinery. As one of the first staff to teach with an interactive white boards. he was one who led
the way with ICT integration in our academic programme.
The environment in his classroom is conducive to learning as he maintains admirable discipline.
Project work is on display and the atmosphere in the classroom encourages a love of the subject.
Stronger students are challenged and weaker ones are given due attention. His preparation is
well done and marking of tests and project work is completed on time. He maintains positive
working relationships with his students, members of his department as well as other members of
the Kearsney staff.
Extra murally, Wayne has devoted above average commitment to his sports coaching. He is a
superb rugby and cricket coach, expecting high standards from his boys and putting in the hard
work himself to achieve his goals. He was always willing to accompany sports teams over
weekends and during the school holidays. Thoroughly reliable and highly competent, the teams
were always in safe hands. He was also instrumental in the introduction of electronic score sheets
(Palmtops) with intranet applications for our cricket coaches.
2. Wayne has occupied the position of duty master of a boarding house with I l0 boarders for four
years. He gives attention to detail and offers superb commitment to ensure that the boys' needs
are met. He relates well to boys of all ages and they in turn respect him and willingly co-operate
with him.
As a person Wayne is determined and tenacious. Well disciplined, he is highly rated as a superb
teacher at the College. We have found him to be honest and a man of integrity. He is constantly
striving to improve himself, learning about new technologies. In this vein he is currently
studying towards an Architectural Drafting diploma.
I thus recommend Wayne to you in the knowledge that he possesses all the attributes to make a
success of whatever he sets out to do.

3. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I have known Wayne Stewart for the past five years. He was a "student Mas ter,, at
Kearsney College whilst he was studying for his degree at the Edgewood campus
of the Kwa Zulu Natal University. He has since been employed by Kearsney and
has coached rugby, cricket and soccer and taught Designuri Tecirnology.
This year he has been promoted to be the assistant coach for our I't XV rugby side
and has done an excellent job with the three quarters. He would in time Ue ve.y
capable of running a top class school's 1" XV and be in line for provincial
coaching honours. He has passed the Natal Rugby Union's level one and two
coaching courses. Wayne has also helped during the off season with the
preparation of the I't XV players in terms of oui High Performance program.
He is an excellent cricket coach and has coached our Ul54 and 2"d Xlcricket side.
He has also coached and managed our 2nd xI soccer team.
I have found Wayne to be an extremely enthusiastic sports coach. He has a love for
sport and has the ability to motivate players and get them to perform to their full
potential. He is very fair in his dealings with the players at the same time making
sure the players themselves have a full understanding of discipline and the needs
for the team above self. He has always been on time and expects nothing less from
his players. Wayne is well respected amongst the boys whilst being very popular at
the same time.
I have no hesitation in Highly Recommending Wayne to any school that sees sport
as an o'Educational
Tool of Life" in the belieflhat ire will be a success in the school
that employs him.

WAYNE T. STEWART
It is with pleasure that I write in support of Wayne Stewart who I have grown to know well in my capacity
of Deputy Headmaster in charge of the Academic Programme at Kea-rsney since his arrival in 2OOS to
the end of last year.
Wayne has proved himself as a motivated and capable professional during his time at Kearsney. In
2005 he was appointed as the Learning Area Head of Technology at the 6ollege. As a result of his
success in this position he was appointed the following year to lhe Head of D6partment position for
Technology at Kearsney.
In 2006 the College made the decision to introduce Engineering, Graphics and Design into the
curriculum and the responsibility for this was given to Wayne. This dLpartment under his guidance and
leadership rapidly grew into a vibrant and successful addition to the academic programme-at Kearsney.
The rapid expansion of this subject necessitated additional facilities to accommolate this growth and
Wayne was responsible for the design and equipping of this new facility which he did very suciessfully.
Wayne has also exceptional l.T. and computer skills and has been used extensively in the College in this
legald: In 2005 he developed a technology intranet website with great success. He also implemented
AutoCAD technology in his Engineering Graphics and Design Deplrtment which has taken rhis subject
to a new level.
The above achievements speak for themselves and are a reflection of an individual whose commitment
and ability is of the highest order. I have no hesitation in recommending Wayne and he carries my best
wishes for the future.
Sincerely,
,/

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCBRN
I write in support of Wayne Stewart who I have had the privilege of working with while
employed by Kearsney College. Wayne is a go-getter who is not scared to get involved at
any level. Wayne was involved in both cricket and rugby coaching at "A" team level and
was also the backline coach of the l" XV Rugby this year. He made a sizable
contribution to both sports. His leadership and organization has had a huge impact on
both staff and boys alike.
I found him to be well organised, one who adhered to deadlines and was of great support
to the college and myself. He has had a very positive influence on the college no matter
what the circumstances. During his time at the college, he was often required to do
extraordinary duties, which he did most successfully with no fuss.
As a person, Wayne has a very gracious presence, is always neatly and appropriately
presented and possesses a fine sense of humor. His commitment cannot be faulted. He is
also very loyal, reliable and trustworthy.
I have been thoroughly satisfied with the quality of Wayne's performance and would not
hesitate to recommend him for a position in any company.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I have known Wayne Stewart since he was appointed to the position of Boarder Master at Kearsney
College when he was a university student'
From the beginning he made a very good impression with his open and friendly demeanour. He was an
orirtanoing Eo"r$r Master, which iJ borne out by the fact that he secured a permanent post at the
Coifege im-meOiately after he qualified as a teacher. This does not happen very often.
Since then Wayne has excelled in the classroom where his cutting-edge subject knowledge and
fresentation stiitts, nis easy rapport with the boys, his organisational skills, and his enthusiasm for his
iubject have marked him very'early in his career to.be an asset to the teaching profession' He has also
quickly come to the fore as aiporti' coach, probably because he is a good sportsman^in his own right'
He also served eagerly as my deputy on the importint school's osH Act Committee (occupational
Health and Safety). lwas particuiarty impressed by his proactivity in dealing with matters before this
committee.
Wayne is a person who knows his mind and knows what he wants in life. For this reason nobody was
surprised when, still as a young man, he made lovely Kirsty (girlfriend of his student years) his bride
sodn after she graduated. Wayne and Kirsty are a handsome and bright-eyed couple.
wayne is a talented, personable and ambitious young man who will do very well. My very best wishes go
with this testimonial and I am more than happy to act as referee on his behalf.
