I am pleased to recommend Alexis Benson for the position she is interviewing for at your
firm. I was Alexis’ most recent District Manager at ICOS Corporation, a former
biotechnology company based in Bothell, Washington, famous for developing tadalifil
(Cialis) for erectile dysfunction. Icos merged with Eli Lilly in 2006.
Alexis is a hard worker with exemplary relationship and communication skills. She hit
the ground running in her territory and quickly built strong ties with critical thought
leaders and speakers in her territory. Some of her physicians were critical to Cialis
overall sales and reputation. These were nationally renowned Urologists at NY
Presbyterian, St. Luke’s Roosevelt and Sloane Kettering. Access to these top prescribers
was difficult, but Alexis managed to gain their respect, and therefore, access to their
offices for one on one meetings. Alexis has an honesty in her communication skills that
inspires confidence and trust. She also respects and relates with the office staff who were
also critical for getting her on the schedule on short notice for my ride-alongs with her.
Her product knowledge was thorough and relevant and she backed her benefit statements
by ICOS’ approved clinical evidence.
Alexis increased her overall market share of Cialis, most drastically in her top tier
physicians. Most of these scripts were switches from Levitra, a well-known competitor
in the ED market.
At sales meetings Alexis was active in her participation, and gave presentations when
asked. She often won the mini-contest we held at meetings for best detailing.
