Strategic Issues In Entrepreneurial And Small BusinessesRoula Samra
Small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures are important drivers of job growth and innovation. Strategic planning is important for success but often informal in small companies due to time constraints and lack of skills. A modified strategic process for entrepreneurs involves scanning the environment, identifying opportunities and threats, assessing strengths and weaknesses, developing a business idea and plan, and evaluating performance against projections. Key challenges for entrepreneurs include strategy implementation, succession planning for family businesses, and evaluation and control for small private companies.
1) Congenital hypothyroidism is the most common preventable cause of mental retardation and can be diagnosed through newborn screening programs that measure TSH levels.
2) It is classified as permanent or transient, with permanent CH caused by thyroid dysgenesis, defects in hormone synthesis, TSH resistance, or central hypothyroidism.
3) Transient CH has various causes including antithyroid drugs, iodine excess or deficiency, prematurity, or blocking antibodies; it typically resolves on its own.
The document discusses several key aspects of employee attitudes and job satisfaction. It defines attitudes as evaluative statements that can be favorable or unfavorable. The three main components of attitudes are the cognitive, affective, and behavioral components. While attitudes guide behavior, the relationship is complex and not absolute. Job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and other major attitudes are examined in detail. The importance of regularly measuring employee attitudes through surveys is also highlighted.
Diversity in organizations is increasing as the U.S. workforce becomes more diverse. To adapt, organizations must implement diversity management strategies to be aware of and sensitive to differences. Surface-level diversity includes characteristics like race, gender, and age that are easily observed, while deep-level diversity involves less visible attributes like values and personality. Both types of diversity can impact work performance and employee experiences. Effective diversity programs teach managers about legal protections, attract diverse candidates, and foster development practices that benefit all workers. Considering cultural differences is also important for diversity strategies in a global context.
The document discusses emotions and moods in organizational behavior. It defines emotions and moods, explores their sources and impact, and examines theories like affective events theory and emotional intelligence. Some key points are that emotions were originally ignored in OB due to a focus on rationality, positive moods are highest at the end of the week and in the middle of the day, and that understanding emotions can help managers predict behavior and improve job performance.

21. The chosen area to build the complex is located in a
strategic position in the west of Rome, close to the
small urban center of Massimina. More precisely,
it is positioned right beyond the urban ring (the
“GRA”) and between the two main roads Via Aurelia
(southwards) and Via di Boccea (northwards). The
area is part of a bigger zone ( between the Highway
towards Fiumicino and the residential areas along
Via di Boccea) which has gone through a dramatic
transition process in the past few years. Moreover,
it is also subject to a total reorganization.
It consists of a wide neighborhood just outside the
busiest part of the city, and it is suitable for building
a multifunctional sport complex both from the
environmental and from the functional point of view.
In effect, the complex will respect and re-evaluate
the green spaces within this area, while being
the functional completion of the existing services
structure. Regarding the soccer stadium “F. Sensi”,
it has been designed following ‘the English model’
and it has a capacity to contain 55000 spectators.
The complex will also include a hotel, offices, and
a city park together with some residential buildings.
