The rise in bullying and school violence is of
great concernto every parent and teacher
in the United States. At Celestial Guidance
Elementary, we believe that the kind of
violencewe see on the news is due to a
“heart problem” and not a gun problem.
We aim to combatbullying and violence
beginning in our preschool program, by
teaching the importance of respect and
acceptance of yourself, others, and the
environment. We also believe that the best
way to teach these values is to model them
to our students in a variety of ways; from
building up our students with positive
thoughts and statements, to respecting a
student’s wish not to be touched.
We believe that by giving students a healthy
independence, and guiding them into
positive and respectful choices, weprovide
them witha valuable skill much needed in
their future lives.
