Aigars Rostovskis is the chairman of the board of the Business School of Turiba (BAT) in Latvia. He has a doctorate in management sociology. As chairman, he is responsible for making final decisions on problematic situations, though he delegates much of the daily work. He works long hours, both physically at the school and mentally thinking about problems. His motivation and determination have been keys to his success in building a career and the school despite challenges.

He is one of the founders of The School of Business Administration “Turība” (BAT).Two years ago, he became the main shareholder of the school and one year later he held the position of chairman of the board. Aigars Rostovskis tells that, except responsibility, amount of work and duties have not changed. At this moment, he is the last one whom to recourse for the help in problematic situations. He has to make final decisions but it does not make a lot of problems because he was used to do it at the previous work place too – he has even made his own philosophy how to do it.Physically, he spends eight hours at work but mentally – 24 hours a day. While some kind of problem is being solved he thinks about it all day long. The only way, how to relax and not to think about work is to do sports.Before, he had more time; he loved city nightlife and good club music but not now due to time shortage.Aigars Rostovskis has finished RCK (Rīgas Celtniecības College). After that he started studies in RTU (Riga Technical University), but his new business took too much time and he left the university. But on the other hand he had the possibility to be at the right time and place. This helped him to make good contacts with Russian people in Moscow. Aigars Rostovskis decided to finish studies there. After gaining the bachelor degree in Moscow he continued his master studies in sociology of guidance/leadership. Aigars Rostovskis asserts that the main experience he gained in his own business not in the university. But he would like to improve his language knowledge or master some kind of technical knowledge.In the business area he is a newcomer but anyway he knows what luck and failure is. Whatever happens, he has always been determined, that is why he has solved all the bad lucks. He does not have very good intuition, that is why experience and team work are the basic things in what he trusts. It is very important to believe in team and the decision.Aigars Rostovskis accents that motivation is the key of his life. If person has it, he can gain every purpose what he dreams about. The motivation on the way to success is the most important feature, but all others – money, acquaintainces, education etc. – are only supplementary aids.To the question – are you superstitious, Aigars Rostovskis was smiling: “no,” he said! He is rational man and that is why he does not believe in things like these. Even if he had a possibility, he would not change a single thing in his life. He is sure – if you change one thing – other issues will change after that. Mr. A.
