Appreciation
82 year woman who had been totally blind for the past few years regained her sight after the cataract operation. It was a moment of great joy, tears, prayers, appreciations & emotions
She could not control herself and got hysterical screaming:
Naona-Naona. I can see-I can see. She grabbed her son shouting you are my son, I recognize you.
But the sad part was when she cried remembering her daughter who had just passed away in February lamenting that she could not see her for the last time.
An old father fails to recognize her daughter on gaining sight after 10 years – A moment of joy and emotions
Thomas (24) had been diagnosed with diabetes since early childhood and attends Diabetic Clinic at Teule District Hospital. He had started losing his vision and since the past few years has been totally blind.
He was a farmer, but since losing the sight, he has become a totally dependent on the family for his survival and daily living tasks. He was referred to higher centres, but costs to undergo surgery became prohibitive.
A time came when he completely lost hope of ever getting help. He even ignored the advice from the diabetic clinic to come for our first camp in December 2015. It was his elder brother, who forced him to come for this camp. He had completely withdrawn himself and was least interested in life. On examination by our Ophthalmologist, they found him to have cataract in both eyes. He was operated upon on one, and Alhamdulillah, he regained his sight.
He had lost hope to such an extent that when he regained the sight, he did not express any excitement, as witnessed from the video clip. We feel it took time for the reality to sink in.
