Hit by a car illusion:
The tutorial I did was the “getting hit by a car tutorial” made by “ChickenboneQuinto9” on
YouTube. For this tutorial we needed footage of a car driving along a road and someone
crossing the road from the same camera position.
Through this tutorial we used the freeze frame tool which frozen one of the frames in the
walking across the road scene when the person was half way across the road. With that
freeze frame we used the pen tool to draw around the person so we could move him along
with the car when they both make contact; also with the freeze framed scene we used the
puppet tool to bend the person over to make the scene look more realistic.
We used other tools such as the opacity setting and the stop watch that were found in the
actual footage timeline when you press keys such as “s” and “o”. An important tool we used
to actually get the person moving with the car once he got hit was the key frame tool which
is an essential to any after effects movements. The last tool I used was the feather tool
which blended in the freeze frame with the moving car as there was a line going through
them both.
