The African wild dog weighs 25.5 kg as an adult and 0.318 kg at birth, stands 61-76 cm tall, and lives up to 17 years. They live in African savannas in packs that roam over land without territories, hunting cooperatively in packs to catch medium prey like antelopes or larger animals like zebras by running them down at speeds up to 50 km/h over long distances.
