Grain Fish Money, Financing Africa's Green and Blue Revolutions - Africa Prog...Dr Lendy Spires
This report examines Africa's progress over the past decade of economic growth and the challenges ahead. While GDP and exports have grown, most Africans live in rural poverty and livelihoods like fishing are threatened by issues like illegal fishing. Africa has an opportunity to unleash a "green revolution" in agriculture and fisheries to generate jobs and improve food security, but this will require greater investment in infrastructure and management of natural resources, as well as efforts to curb corruption and make growth more inclusive. The report calls for African governments and their partners to strengthen smallholder farmers and artisanal fishers as a priority.
The document discusses the Canada Africa Partnership on AIDS (CAP AIDS), which provides resources and partnerships to community organizations in Africa responding to HIV/AIDS. CAP AIDS has supported over 27 projects, 470 bicycles, and over 5,000 beneficiaries across 5 African countries. The report calls for African governments and their partners to strengthen smallholder farmers and artisanal fishers as a priority.
The document discusses the Canada Africa Partnership on AIDS (CAP AIDS), which provides resources and partnerships to community organizations in Africa responding to HIV/AIDS. CAP AIDS has supported over 27 projects, 470 bicycles, and over 5,000 beneficiaries across 5 African countries. Bicycles are central to their work, as they allow healthcare workers to visit more patients and provide support. The organization partners with World University Service of Canada (WUSC) chapters in fundraising and delivering bicycles to communities in Africa.
