1. Opening Speech for Abu Dhabi Corporate Games Representative:
Everybody, welcome to the beginning.
The beginning of exactly what remains to be seen. This vision that we conceived months
ago, and catalyze into fruition at this very moment, is one of great uncertainty. The resources
poured into this occasion are immense. And the results; uncertain.
We do not know what we begin today. We cannot know until the years have passed. But
what we do know and understand, is greatness. Greatness of men and women. The greatness of
movements of individuals joined in communion. Greatness throughout history, which is always
sparked by those who dared. It’s quite easy to look at the things that have worked in the past and
continue them. As a business, it would be easy for us to go through the books, research the
trends, and carry on the daily activities which garner adequate success. But at the center of
greatness, the foundation beneath great success, the resounding boom that echoes throughout
history and makes greatness great, is the undeniable truth that it brought incredible, great,
change.
To follow standard procedures and do what has been done in the past may offer stability.
But such endeavors will keep its practitioners exactly where they found them, in the past. And to
move to the future, we must embrace the doing of what has NOT been done; and devote
ourselves to all of the risk that comes with it. Because this risk, the idea of trying a new way, is
what leads us…to new ways. It’s what opens eyes and minds and shows the world ways of
thinking it has never known before. And it is the fuel behind us moving forward.
Never before have so many business gathered in one place for such an extended period of
time. We have worked with endless energy and dedication to birth this vision into actuality. And
now we see hundreds of representatives from hundreds of organizations all in one place.
Together. To network and converse, to share and grow. The oppurtunities here are limitless. All
of us hope for this to be the start of an even further economic skyrocketing of our nation. And
being that we have had, and continue to have, the diligence to keep ascending as an event and a
service to the country, we are beyond confident that today is beginning.
So in this spirit, I welcome all to the inception of something strange, and something new.
We do not yet know what it is. But we know that today is the mark of a new Abu Dhabi. Let the
