3. Looks can be deceiving when it comes to both of these two
characters. They may dress differently however inside,
both Brendan and Seymour are psychotic.
The similarities between the characters are mainly their
actions and behavior. Brendan is a person obessed with a
young girl, this can relate to Seymour who is obsessed with
a family containing young children. Seymour knows a lot
about the family, we incorporated this information into our
final production as Brendan knew exactly where Lily ( the
protagonist ) lived and when it was her birthday.
4. Seymour also kept a lot many photos of the family; we took
this into consideration and inputted it into our character
Brendan. Brendan kept many photos of Lily in his garage;
this was used to show the audience his target. The idea of
him keeping pictures of a younger child emphasises the
psychotic mind Brendan withholds, it makes the audience
cringe at the thought of their younger relative being on his
wall as it is every parent’s worst nightmare to think of their
son or daughter being looked at in a sick manor.
However there are some differences between Seymour and
Brendan. The main difference is appearance. Brendan is a
20 year old man, his clothing is quite different to Seymour’s
there is an age gap. Brendan could be disguised as a normal
man, just wrapped up well, which is why no one would
suspect him of his crimes. Seymour looks to be an old
innocent man, well dressed and wouldn’t hurt a fly;
however like Brendan his clothing hides his true nature.
