Action research is a form of applied research where practitioners work to improve their own practices by being involved in research efforts. Practitioners are involved in efforts to better understand problems or weaknesses in their work and jointly implement solutions to address issues identified. The goal of action research is to solve immediate practical problems while expanding scientific knowledge.
