This past June, the IntegratedOncology Network (ION) announced its acquisition
of e+CancerCare, one of the leading operators of outpatient cancer care centers.
Founded in 2002, E+CancerCare has 21 outpatient care centers in 10 different
states and provides ancillary services, medical and radiation oncology, and
diagnostic testing for patients. Private equity firm Silver Oak is backing the ION in
the merger.
The former CEO of e+CancerCare,TomWeiss plans to stay on with the platform as
a consultant.The currentCEO of ION, Jeffrey Goffman plans to keep all current
company staff on at e+CancerCare, as well as its office onWoodmont Boulevard in
Nashville,Tennessee.The acquisition of e+CancerCare, along with the May
acquisition of GammaWest Brachytherapy, makes ION one of the leading cancer
treatment platforms in the country, with operations in more than 17 different states
across more than 50 locations.
