2. Introduction
 For the past five years, Gregory “Greg” Angle has served as president of HCA’s
Mountain Division in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, where he is responsible for the
management of 11 healthcare facilities located throughout Utah, Idaho, and
Alaska. Additionally, Greg Angle is a longtime member of the American College
of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a leading professional society for leaders in the
healthcare sector.
A recent ACHE report examines the growing trend of physicians entering the
administrative space as leaders in the operations space as well as the clinical
arena. As this trend continues, the need for targeted training to help physicians
better integrate into executive roles becomes more vital. This is crucial
especially given the sometimes tenuous relationships that can exist between
administrators and physicians, which creates a stressful division of identity for
doctors trying to balance both.
To that end, ACHE is rolling out a new program called Choice aimed at helping
physicians interested in transitioning to C-suite positions within hospital
administration. The program will consist of seminars, training from seasoned
