Ace & Tate pop up shop opens in Mitte
Chic Dutch eyewear label Ace & Tate have opened up their first ever physical store in the heart of
Berlin. Situated on Torstrasse, the pop up shop will run for one month, up until the 23rd
December.
Inside the store you will find a large range of frames that are available in the form of both
sunglasses or prescription glasses, including their Autumn/Winter '14 collection 'The Music
Collection'. Each design from this new collection is influenced by music in one way or another -
from inspiring songs to musicians and the makes of famous guitars, with each piece given names
such as 'Nina', inspired by Nina Simone and 'Smoke on the water', named after the Deep Purple
song. Each design from the brand is classic and vintage inspired, but with a modern twist.
This aesthetic is also reflected in the stores interior which was designed as part of a collaboration
with Berlin based design company New Tendency. With clean, minimalistic design featuring neon
signage and a light installation featuring the song lyrics that the inspired the Autumn/Winter '14
collection, they have created a beautiful retail setting. The store almost feels more like an art
gallery, with the eyewear displayed like pieces of art.
Ace & Tate's ethos is all about cutting out the middle man in order to keep prices low without
sacrificing quality meaning that the products are only around 98 euros including prescription lenses.
The store is located at Torstrasse 66, Mitte, Berlin and will be opened Monday to Saturday from 12-
20.00 until the 23rd
December.
