The ACE Program Number One Again!
As you may be aware, the ACE program has won its second major award after winning the “Building
Partnerships” award at the Hunter New England Health’s Excellence Awards. This follows its win at the
Australian Doctor Medicare Local Innovator of the Year competition earlier in the year. Hunter Medicare
Local Chief Executive John Baillie stated: “ This program is a very clear and demonstrable example of
how a whole of system approach to an issue can yield great results and outcomes for the people living
in our communities.....As someone who has a family member living in a residential aged care facility,
I can attest to the fact that the ACE program provides significant peace of mind that my relative has
access to a program that helps the staff caring for him manage non-life threatening acute care issues”.
Congratulations to everyone who have been instrumental in developing and making this program work.
