Out of this 700 will be transferred to capital reserve account answer.
Z Ltd. forfeited 150 shares of Rs. 10, issued at a premium of Rs. 2, for non payment of the final call of Rs. 3. Of these 100 shares were re-issued © Rs. 11 per share. How much is transferred to capital reserve?
Solution.. We had got 7 Rupees per share on 150 shares. Thus share forefeiture account will be created with Rs. 1050. When 100 shares have been issued, then the share forefeiture account balance will be reduced by 7*100 = 700 rupees. Answer.
E Ltd. had allotted 10,000 shares to applicants for 14,000 shares on a pro rata basis. The amount payable was Rs. 2 on application, Rs. 5 on allotment (including premium of Rs. 2 each), Rs. 3 on first call and Rs. 2 on final call. Dhaval failed to pay the first call and final call on his 300 shares. All the shares were forfeited and out of these 200 shares were reissued @ Rs. 9 per share. What is the amount credited to capital reserve?
Solution… We have 300 * 5 = 1500 available in share forefeiture account. Actually Dhaval had applied for 420 shares, for which 300 were alloted. Thus we have 120*2 = 240 available with us. (1500+240 = 1740 is the balance in Forefeiture) We have already issued 200 shares. We got 9*200 on these. We will adjust 1*200 from forefeiture account. Thus 4*200 = 800 +240 = 1040 will be transferred to capital reserve account. Forfeiture balance will be 100*5 = 500 Ans
