Report on the Renovation Work Proposed with intent of a
barrier free environment.
1. Observations:
The curb walls are a hindrance
for the wheel chair to enter into the
lawns (Ref: Fig 1)
Suggestions:
The curb walls to the lawns will have
to be demolished at 24 points for
the easy access of wheel chair to the
lawns.
2. Observations:
No openings or entry points for the lawn area. (Ref: Fig 1)
Suggestions:
24 entry points to the lawn area at a width of 2m wide is to be made.
3. Observations:
No handicapped requirements for the
existing toilet. (Ref: Fig 2)
Suggestions:
A new toilet block for physically
handicapped will have to be designed
separately.
Fig: 1
Fig: 2

4. Observations:
There are no ramps provided to
the curved benches at the sea side
at the eastern side. The entry point
is with 3m wide and 15cm depth
on both sides. Benches are with
5.50m length and 15cm depth on
both sides. (Ref: Fig 3)
Suggestions:
Ramps with hand railings and head
rest to enter the benches will have to be provided.
5. Observations:
All the walk ways are with surface
level differences without any
paving which will effect the
smooth movement of the
wheelchair. (Ref: Fig 4)
Suggestions:
Paving tiles (Eurocon/ Ultratile or
equivalent) in all the walk ways is
to be provided.

All existing tarred roads
inside the park can be
paved with paving tiles
(Eurocon/ Ultratile or
equivalent).

There is circular rubble
paving at two junctions
which creates a level
difference than the normal
walk ways. It can effect the
easy movement of the
wheel chair.
(Ref: Fig 7)
Fig: 6
Fig: 7
7. www.cppr.in 7
Suggestions:
The paving can be dismantled and the same level of the walk way can be
maintained by using same paving tiles (Eurocon/ Ultratile or equivalent)
Inner 2m radius circle can be maintained as such Outer 2m radius circular
rubble. (Ref: Fig 8)
Observations:
There is very less
number of
benches inside the
park.
Suggestions:
At least 50
