OSMC 2015: Monitor Open stack environments from the bottom up and front to ba...NETWAYS
Elastic virtualization using the popular OpenStack platform is for real. While Sysadmins and DevOps professionals fully embrace these new developments, managing them is still a challenge. Adding layers of abstraction for compute, network and storage resources further increases complexity. Resource sharing, the fully dynamic creation of networks, virtual machines and recently Linux containers inside the framework also increases the challenge of managing these already complex systems.
This presentation will provide insights on how to optimize the monitoring and management of OpenStack "from the bottom up", and from front to back to efficiently manage and troubleshoot OpenStack environments using API monitoring techniques and best of breed OpenSource tools such as Icinga 2.4, OpenStack API, Fuel, BoxSpy, OpenTSDB and others.

Many organizations are embracing the latest practices for DevOps agility and cloud innovations to manage their heterogeneous environments (Hybrid DC). Yet they are also concerned about their ability to make appropriate and responsible decisions about how to monitor those workloads. How to monitor application and infrastructure in a centralized location?

OSDC 2019 | Simplifying Your IT Workflow with Katello and Foreman by Nikhil K...NETWAYS
As your organization grows, so does your workload—and the IT resources required to manage it. There is no “one-size-fits-all” system management solution, but a centralized, open source tool such as Foreman can help you manage your company’s IT assets by provisioning, maintaining, and updating hosts throughout the complete lifecycle. Foreman is an open source project that helps system administrators manage servers throughout their lifecycle, from provisioning and configuration to orchestration and monitoring. Using Puppet, Ansible and Foreman’s smart proxy architecture, you can easily automate repetitive tasks, quickly deploy applications, and proactively manage change, both on-premise with VMs and bare-metal or in the cloud. The talk will explain the key features like provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management in brief and how easy it becomes to have all these features under the same hood to manage your datacenters.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
