The Midtown Rotary Club of Mysore conducted a community service visit to the Vimala Terminal Care Centre. The centre provides shelter and care for the destitute who are terminally ill, mentally or physically disabled, aged, or abandoned. During the visit, the Rotarians and Inner Wheel members donated groceries, floor cleaners, detergents, and milk powder to the organization. They also handed over a cheque for Rs. 10,000. The inmates were served dinner and afterwards, one inmate entertained with a dance performance. The visit aimed to provide support to the care centre and bring cheer to those staying there.

Rotarian President Dr. P. S. Bhat and Sathyabhama Bhat. After
completing his early education in Puttur, he graduated in
Medicine from JNMC, Belgaum in the year 1982. Started career
in the Nursing Home started by his father at Puttur, he pursued
his education to Diploma in Orthopedics from KMC, Mangalore.
To add to his academic recod, he acquired post graduate
Diploma in Hospital Management and Health from Indira
Gandhi National Open University. Now, the Managing Director
of a 100 bed Multi Speciality Hospital in Puttur, be rungs Puttur
City Hospital with utmost devotion and commitment.
Having joined social service through Jaycee, he led Putter
Jaycees to great heights in the year 1985. Past President of IMA,
he was also the Chairman of Patient Right Protection
Committee of IMA, Puttur.
Joining Rotary in the year 1989, he left no stone unearthed to
serve the society. Rotary Campco Blood Bank started in year
1998 under his Chairmanship being the most prestigious
project still running to the satisfaction of the general public.
Took over the reigns of Rotary Puttur in 2002-03 to serve the
entire length & breadth of the society. His achievements as
President yielded in a number of service projects of which
construction of an own meeting hall and an ambulance under
matching grant were the important few.
Thereafter was series of assignments in Rotary Dist. 3180,
including Assistant Governor in 2007-08 of Zone V & Dist Pulse
Polio Chairman in 2010-11.
