I'm sharing with you the final presentation in which you will find a brief description of the brand, its CAD & CEO, its distribution strategy, and how this cultural codes are translated into a variety of product categories. Chairman’s Introduction
Welcome to Sworders’ 2019 newsletter, where we review another eventful year and look forward to what we hope will be an equally eventful 2020.
The year began with the first of two house contents sales, the Collection of Barbara Holliday, removed from ‘The Gales’ in the far, far north west of Cumbria. Mrs Holliday’s particular passion was for the work of late 20th century Royal Academicians. The auction met with an enthusiastic response, a 95% sold rate and was led by works by Mary Fedden and Cumbrian artist Sheila Fell.
The summer brought the contents of Alderley House from Gloucestershire, a quintessentially Cotswold manor house, recently furnished in the English country house style. On offer were the extensive contents, ranging from
a grand piano to a clay pigeon launcher.
In March we opened our London Gallery in Cecil Court, on the edge of Covent Garden; this proved an invaluable asset during our successful Asian Art Auction, which was viewed entirely from there during the week prior to auction.
I am also delighted to have been able to recruit several leading and impressive new members of staff, including Luke Macdonald and Stephen Giles.
Next year begins with the John Barnett Collection of Scales, an exciting new season of 20th Century auctions and the ever-extraordinary Out of the Ordinary auction in February.
Thank you for your much-valued support throughout the year. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible during 2020.

1. ABOUT US
David Marshall is well known for his designs in bronze and aluminium. He was born in
Scotland and went to live in Southern Spain in 1965, where he began creating his original
designs and sculptures and opened his first workshop. He still has a lively gallery in the
popular mountain village of Benahavis, inland from Marbella, as well as his main factory and
foundry in Malaga. He has recently opened two galleries in America – in Santa Fe and
Colorado, as well as a workshop.
Now, some 40 years later, his lovely gifts & luxury home accessories are sold in shops
worldwide. Iron, bronze, brass and wood are brought together in his unmistakable and
individual designs. We are pleased to be able to offer them to you now in the UK for the first
time.

normally fulfilled within 4-5 weeks, and we can ship worldwide.

BESPOKE DESIGNS
We will be delighted to produce a variety of bespoke items, ranging from sporting trophies,
corporate gifts, plaques, staircases and bannisters, fountains, and architectural sculptures
for hotels, building projects and buildings worldwide. In our photo gallery we show a small
collection of designs of these items, but obviously full details will need to be discussed.
PROCESSS & CARE OF PRODUCTS
Once the prototype for each design has been produced, the latest collections are presented
at Milan, Madrid and other International fairs.
The sand casting process ensures that each piece is subtly different and individual.
After manual polishing, every design is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath before being
electrostatically varnished and then baked at 150 degrees C so that no further cleaning is
required. The pieces are then presented with pig skin bases and wool and jute bags which
are locally made in Ronda, Spain, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
