Patricia Nieves
June 13, 2010
Abortion
In the United States, statistics states that worldwide approximately 126,000 women per day and 46 million per year are having abortions because they were either raped, cannot afford the baby, or they are having problems in their relationship and their partner does not want anything to do with the unborn child. Abortions should not be done due to the following reasons women having physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences.
First of all, abortion should not be done due to women having physical changes in the body caused by the procedure. They can experience damage to the cervix because of it being cut, torn, or damaged by the abortion instruments. Also having lots of this procedure done frequently may lead to consequences in the length of the pregnancy cause the embryo not to attach to the uterine lining. Therefore the most dangerous consequences cause by this procedure is major infection due the insertion of the instruments used to perform the abortion, and mistakenly leaving parts of the unborn child also known as incomplete abortion.
Secondly, Abortion may cause emotional changes in women. In some cases strong emotions may appear within days or years after procedures has been done. This procedure can cause post traumatic symptoms like feeling guilty of taking the life away to the unborn child because you are not ready to be a mother. Also, another post traumatic symptom is feeling depressed causing irritability, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, a pounding or racing heart, or feelings of unreality.
Finally, abortions may cause spiritual consequences. In this matter, people have many differences in the understanding of god’s word in the bible, because by doing this procedure it is considered a sin in god eyes. Because People often consider pregnancy an accident, but God takes credit for forming the baby in the womb. Also, god takes the credit in allowing the women to become pregnant to bring a child to this world, aborting it may cause you to feel sorrow and regret which is what god makes you feel.
In conclusion, abortion should not be done because it’s not the child’s fault of your mistake of becoming pregnant. If a woman is not ready to be a mother let the child be born and set it up for adoption, since there are many people that are unable to conceive a child due to infertility. And sometimes it’s because they wait till they wait till a later age and unable to have to complications that may occur like Down syndrome, or with any health problems. Think before doing an abortion because it may cause a woman to have physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. Remember it’s not the baby’s fault of one’s mistake in life.
