The class with the most positive points at the end of the week wins. Over the years the fundraiser has raised over $27,000 for Basket of Hope, a nonprofit that provides gift baskets for seriously ill children in local hospitals. Students Jon, Ethan, and Thomas participated in 2013 and helped raise over $1,500, and plan to participate every year to support this important cause.

Ms. Burson enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at her favorite places like the beach, Disney World, and the mountains. She loves reading and her favorite subjects include Little House on the Prairie, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and Corduroy. Her favorites are fresh fruit for food, Dr Pepper to drink, volleyball for sport, and giraffes as animals with the color blue.

The Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation is holding a fundraising event at Books-A-Million on Armed Forces Day, May 19th from 1-6pm, where 10% of purchases will go to provide emergency support to Georgia military families. The Foundation has provided over $1.5 million in emergency relief to more than 1,840 Georgia military members and their families for job loss, fires, disasters and more. Visitors can find more information at www.georgiaguardfamily.org.

This is an expanded presentation of the talk that I gave at EvolverFest 2010. The presentation covers the use of traditional and medicinal herbs in brewing and the basic brewing process.

Donations of items like toiletry supplies, bedding, canned goods, baby formula, rice, medical supplies and more can be dropped off by each hall's office between November 16th and 22nd, with the winning dorm receiving a waffle party.

The black-tie-optional event will include food and wine, live music, and auctions to raise money for the zoo. Last year's event raised over $31,000. Tickets are still available but selling quickly, so visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online before November 15th or by calling the zoo.

Pupils at several Catholic schools in the UK celebrated young people and raised funds for CAFOD through various activities. Students at Our Lady's Catholic High School ate a reduced lunch menu on Family Fast Day to show solidarity. Staff at St. Mary's Catholic College waxed their legs to raise money for Pakistan relief. Members of Loreto High School's Justice and Peace Group baked and sold cakes to support CAFOD's work. Year 11 pupils at Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School met with a CAFOD director and signed a flag with solidarity messages after learning about struggles of young people in Colombia.

Students at Robinson CLC elementary school in Akron, Ohio have participated in various community service projects to help others, including making cookies and giving a tour for firefighters, collecting personal items for a women's shelter, making flowers and vases for a nursing home, writing letters of encouragement to service members, cleaning up around their school, planting flowers, making blankets for a homeless shelter and baskets for families in transitional housing, earning rice for other countries through a math game, donating to a breast cancer fundraiser, and more. The school encourages others to also make a difference in their community through service.
