The author takes a trip back to Vietnam with their family after 15 years in the US. They fly over 20 hours with layovers in Seoul and Seattle before arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, where they are greeted by 15 relatives. They take a train to visit the countryside and the author's grandmother, and also tour historic sites in Huế like temples and palaces. Before returning home, the author's family throws a farewell party and says goodbye again at the airport, promising to stay in contact and return soon.
