The Prohibition Era
During this time period in
American History women
who wore short dresses
and drank alcohol in
speakeasies were called
flappers. The Government
decided to make all alcohol
illegal within the United
States so many individuals
started making bootleg
alcohol.
Organized Crime
During the Prohibition Era
many illegal activities took
place and were considered
organized crime. Mostly
these were made up of
groups of men who were
trying to make a profit off
of illegal alcohol sales.
Bugsy Malone and Al
Capone were two famous
men during this time for
there illegal actions.
Big Business Booms
The prohibition era led
to many business
booming, while others
were not. Many
businesses at this time
were not legitimate
and didn’t pay taxes to
the IRS.
Federal Agents
The government employed Federal agents who patrolled state
borders and stopped bootleg alcohol.
