3. 3
A salt merchant lived in a small village.
Every day, he walked to the city to buy salt.
His donkey accompanied him.
Seorang saudagar garam tinggal di sebuah
kampung kecil. Setiap hari, dia berjalan ke bandar
untuk membeli garam. Keledainya menemaninya.
4. 4
The merchant loaded the bags of salt
on the donkey, and they walked back
to the village along the river.
Pedagang itu memuatkan beg garam ke
atas keldai, dan mereka berjalan pulang
ke kampung di sepanjang sungai.
5. 5
But the donkey did not like to carry so many bags on his back as he
was lazy. The donkey always looked for ways to get rid of work. One
day, the salt merchant loaded the donkey with two bags of salt, and
they started walking back to the village. On the way, the donkey
accidentally slipped into the river.
6. 6
The salt dissolved in the water and when
the donkey was pulled out of the river,
he felt lighter.
Haw!
Haw!
7. 7
The salt merchant had to go back to the city to buy more salt. The donkey
thought this was a good idea to get rid of the load. The next day, the donkey
intentionally slipped into the river. When he was pulled out, he felt lighter. The
salt merchant saw through the donkey’s trick.
He knew that donkey was falling into the river on purpose.
8. 8
So, one day the salt merchant
deliberately filled the bags with
cotton instead of salt.
Jadi, suatu hari peniaga garam itu
sengaja mengisi beg itu dengan kapas
dan bukannya garam.
9. 9
The donkey felt that the bags were much lighter than
previous days, but the donkey wanted to reduce the
weight even more. So the donkey again purposely
slipped into the river.
Dirty
Trick,
Lazy
Donkey!
Tipu
Kotoran,
Keledai
malas!
10. 10
But when he was pulled out, the load on his back felt much
heavier. As the bags contained cotton, when they fell into the
water along with the donkey, the cotton absorbed the water
and the bags became heavier.
11. 11
The lazy donkey had to carry
the heavier load.
He had to suffer more. He realized his
mistake of trying to cheat the merchant.
The merchant had taught him a lesson.
Keldai yang malas terpaksa memikul beban yang
lebih berat. Dia terpaksa lebih menderita. Dia
sedar kesilapannya cuba menipu peniaga itu.
Pedagang itu telah memberinya pelajaran.
12. 12
Do not be lazy.
JANGAN MALAS.
Do not cheat others.
JANGAN TIPU
ORANG LAIN.
Dishonesty brings suffering.
TIDAK JUJUR MEMBAWA
PENDERITAAN.
