Narendranath Datta was born in 1863 in Kolkata to an affluent family. He was known as Swami Vivekananda after taking monastic vows, and believed that a country's future depends on developing its people through teachings based on Vedanta philosophy. Vivekananda was a powerful orator, writer, singer and poet who authored several works and spoke on topics related to Hinduism, yoga, and nationalism.
