You say, “you’re sorry,”
But you don’t feel as I do
It’s really for the best
But it doesn’t make me feel it any less
The tears come but I push them away
And in that moment it was my heart that I betrayed
I wanted to speak up
To jam my foot in the door keeping it from being shut
But I just stood there like a fool
Mouth open, head down, unable to do…
Man I knew better! What an idiot!
I just knew it,
It always crashes on me
I wear my heart on my sleeve
And just look at me
Drenched standing in the rain
A lawn ornament filled with pain
As lifeless as the flamingo staring back at me
I turn and walk to the street
All the while cursing my stupidity
We were friends; I shouldn’t have pushed it
Damnit, what an idiot!
But I had to try,
I just had to, with all you bring to my life
Who wouldn’t, but I shouldn’t have kissed you tonight.
What can I say, I’m sorry, but not sorry,
Oh God please forgive me
I shouldn’t have kissed you tonight,
But it was perfect, the best kiss in all my life
Such passion, God it felt so right
Were you scared, please forgive me
Our friendship means everything
I’m sorry
Ahh, Damnit, I take it back
I’m not sorry, I love you and that’s that!
