Raw chocolate is good for you because it is a rich source of magnesium and antioxidants. It contains compounds like PEA and tryptophan that act as natural anti-depressants and boost mood by increasing serotonin levels. Raw chocolate has little to no caffeine compared to roasted cocoa beans but still provides a "feel good" effect. Heating and processing destroys many of chocolate's health-supporting properties so raw chocolate maximizes its nutritional benefits.
