Master photographer Peter Lik returns from Hawaii with his most captivating photographs yet, taken after braving the elements for weeks on the Big Island. One image in particular, titled "Pele's Whisper," features the profile of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, appearing to blow steam from the ocean surface - an image Lik calls "my shot of a lifetime." Over five years and multiple visits, Lik was determined to capture volcanic eruption on film until he finally succeeded, risking danger to get the perfect shot just before dawn. His subsequent visits found the landscape constantly shifting under the forces of nature, demanding he adapt quickly to capture new scenes, like glowing lava beneath his feet and all the elements interacting
