This is a sample of a bio I created for a female R&B Singer I was managing last year.

1. CANDYNICOLE
CandyNicole, 23yr old Singer/Songwriter born in Roanoke, Virginia, raised in Houston Texas. She has an
effervescence, radiant, glowing sound of glorious vocal strength culminated with an instinctive captivating ability to
put words together with her gripping writing ability. CandyNicole grew up singing in her Church Choir and by age
18 was part of a gospel group called Agape 3:16 until they split up a year later. After the split from the group,
CandyNicole began performing at various clubs and trade shows around Texas including The Nopi Motor Sports
Show in Baytown, Texas and Ennis, Texas. She also had the chance to write and sing a hook on a song for Big
Pokey ft. Lil’ O. However, CandyNicole Ferguson has not always had something to sing about. When CandyNicole
was a child, her mother succumbed to the harsh reality of drug abuse and addiction that plagues so many of our
homes and communities; as well as an absentee father. Being raised by a drug addicted single parent wasn’t easy
and by age 20, CandyNicole found herself in a long term relationship with a controlling, unsupportive, insecure
man who continuously discouraged her pursuit of a career in music. After 6 months of careful consideration and
uncertainty and numerous attempts to save her mother, CandyNicole decided that she needed to save herself and
left both her bad relationship and drug addicted mother behind when she packed her bags in hopes of being
discovered and moved to Atlanta, GA not knowing anyone.
Atlanta proved to be a very promising move for CandyNicole, and not long after getting settled, she was afforded
the opportunity to see what it’s like on the road in the music business by traveling to several city's with successful
Rapper, Young Joc. She also met a very talented songwriter named Robin Kendrick and co-wrote and recorded
her first single “Love”. CandyNicole’s life began to take a real positive change when she retained management
from MizzParker Entertainment Group. She continued to write with Robin Kendrick and they are currently waiting
on finalization of 2 song placements on a successful Platinum Selling Pop Artists upcoming album. She has also
had the opportunity to record with Songwriter Corey Gibson who has written several songs for Chrisette Michelle.
She also came in 1st place at the Urban Threshold Urban Music Explosion @ SOB's in NYC December 17, 2007 in
the R&B Category. CandyNicole is presently vocal training at one of the top vocal studios in Atlanta, Jan Smith
Studios, which is famous for training many of the successful Gold and Platinum selling artists you see today. Most
recently CandyNicole has auditioned for Multi-Platinum selling Singer/Songwriter Ne-Yo as a background vocalist
for his 2008 National tour with Alicia Keys and Jordan Sparks.
CandyNicole’s goals first and foremost are to become a successful R&B Artist but she is also encouraged by her
now sober mother’s plight and hopes to one day open a Drug Rehabilitation Center to house recovering addicts.
She is a licensed Real Estate Agent and hopes to one day own her own urban clothing line and store. She is very
ambitious and constantly striving to succeed; which is why she is also 5 chapters into her auto-biography and
testimony where she hopes for people young and old to realize that regardless of where you come from or the
things you've been through, you can still have goals and dreams and strive to make them come true. CandyNicole
says “Her Faith in God has gotten her to this point and she can only look forward to his many blessings to come”.
