4. What‘s new about the EVOLUTION?
For the new EVOLUTION, the way the strap travels was unified and a new
welding unit was developed to standard 6. All three base models now use
the same technology and the same aggregate. The standardization of the
core components including dispenser, strap feed, strap magazine and strap
guide frame, has enabled a modular construction of the new machine.
5. One machine – suitable across all
industries
The EVOLUTION offers:
• higher strapping speeds
• Infinitely adjustable strap tension
• greater choice of straps
• diversity of options
• soft strapping
The EVOLUTION is ideal for a wide range of applications including
• Printing: for wholesalers who need to strap different products quickly and
reliably
• Cardboard packages: for quick strapping of many packages within short time
frames
• Distribution / Mail: at distribution centres where high-quality work within minutes
is in high demand
6. The new Standard 6 sealing unit
Das Standard-6 Aggregat
In the new Standard 6 sealing unit, either heat
welding or SoniXs technology can be used. The
mechanics of the unit differs only in the type of
sealing: heating or sonotrode.
Each strapping machine of the EVOLUTION series is supplied with a SoniXs sealing unit
as a standard, which welds strap ends quickly and safely with ultrasonic technology. The
tear strength of the welding seam equals up to 80 percent of the tensile strength of the
strapping material. In contrast to heat welding, the SoniXs sealing unit does not need to
be heated. Therefore, machines with a SoniXs sealing unit are fully operational at all
times.
7. The new Standard 6 strap path
• The Standard 6 strap path is applicable in all machine classes
• Faster installation due to more pre-assembly possibilities
• Simple dismantling of strap path components without tools
• Very good accessibility to technical components due to simple
dismantling of table and side sheets
• Modular design (SoniXs = heat welding)

41. Parameter display
• A parameter configuration workstation may be connected to the controller via the user
parameter interface of the MSCB1. The most important parameters are displayed or
set via this parameter configuration workstation. The parameter display is a standard
feature in the B and R versions. In the T version, it is available as option.
1. Display 1
2
2. Keyboard
3. Plugin connection (Connector with
locking mechanism)
3
For example, following parameters can
be changed or displayed:
• strapping counter
• time for retraction
• speed of retraction
• time of welding
• speed of the belts / rollers
• operating hours of the machine
42. Service highlights
Once the service engineer should be required, he will be optimally supported.
Service modes
Using a "dongle", incorporated in the parameter display brought by the service engineer,
the controller detects that the machine is operated by a trained, instructed professional. In
this case, the machines provide special service modes to the service technician giving him
optimum opportunities for the diagnosis. A fast and reliable diagnosis is possible.
The possibilities go a step further. In service mode, the machines work without a safety
cover to prevent the service engineer from being handicapped when viewing or accessing
the machine.
The additional service modes are:
• Slow forward and backward turning of the sealing drive
• Stop at any position of the sealing unit
• Approach to the next main position of the sealing unit
• Slow, traceable strapping for diagnosis purposes (available soon)

44. Description of the safety equipment
In machines with heat welding system, the heating zone is protected by the outlet table
during operation. While carrying out maintenance work, the operator is warned against
burn injuries by a danger symbol "Warning - Hot surface".
When opening the table, the door at the front, the strap dispenser drawer as well as
when operating the main switch with the emergency stop feature, the strapping
operation is brought to a standstill.
Emergency stop buttons are placed on the B and R versions. If the machine is
integrated in a system, the emergency stop can be combined with upstream and
downstream machines.
To continue the strapping operation, after operating a locked safety device, separate
acknowledgement is necessary.
The electrical equipment of the machine conforms to the safety measures in
accordance with EN 60204-1.
45. Electrical data, voltage, interface
By default, all EVOLUTION versions (T/B/R) are equipped with the network data 230 V /
50 Hz / 1 Ph. But also all standard, country-specific power data are available.
An infeed and outlet release is included by default in the fully automatic B- and R-
versions as data interface between upstream and downstream conveyors.
In all three models, a contact exchange via 16 pin plug is available as option.
46. Advantages
• High strapping speeds
• High usability through infinitly turnable operation panel (operable from 3 sides)
• Modular design (SoniXs = heat welding)
• High reliability
• Easy to maintain through simple dismantling of strap path components without
tools
• Strap coil changeable from the front and the side
• Wear-free DC drive technology
