This document provides 9 steps for becoming a great catcher in softball: 1. Put on all the necessary protective equipment like leg pads, chest protector, and helmet. 2. Position yourself a few feet behind home plate in a squatting stance with your glove ready to catch pitches at knee level. 3. Be ready when the pitcher throws and block any ground balls with your body, catching them with an open glove. 4. Catch pitches in your glove and close it once secured. 5. Check the bases to prevent stealing. Throw back to the pitcher if needed.
