Family Weekend Showcases SUNY Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Sept. 13, 2013) — SUNY Plattsburgh will hold the annual Family
Weekend from Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 22. There will be multiple events
scheduled for both on- and off-campus.

Family Weekend offers “a great opportunity for families to get familiar with their student’s
‘home away from home,’” says Cori Jackson, director of the Center for Student Involvement.

On-campus activities include musical performances on Saturday night, featuring Mark Rust
at the Coffeehouse in Burghy’s at 7 p.m. followed by the Gospel Choir in the Flint Commons
at 8:30 p.m..Other activities include a trivia competition, ice-skating, dining, women’s and
men’s soccer tournaments, 3-mile Fun and Run Walk sponsored by The Center for Student
Health & Psychological Services, casual dining and more. Off-campus experiences include a
trip to Burlington and a Lakeside Breakfast hosted by College President John Ettling.
