GRADE POINT AVERAGE ( GPA )
CALCULATION (WEIGHTED)
Simple calculation which involves
multiplying the converted numerical grade
by the number of credits to equal the quality
points. If a weighted course is taken, the
quality points are then multiplied by the
appropriate factor. The quality points are
then divided by the total number of credits
attempted.
9. 8th Grade Orientation Night February 2013
EXAMPLE
Numer. Convert. Qual. Wt. Qual.
Grade Grade Credit Pts. Fact. Pts.
95 = 4.00 X 5 = 20 X 1.20 = 24
84 = 2.67 X 2.5 = 6.675 X 1 = 6.675
89 = 3.33 X 5 = 16.65 X 1.30 = 21.645
12.5 52.32
credits q. pts.
**52.32 divided by 12.5 = 4.186
GPA (weighted)
