Moritz Stefaner presents his research on selfies collected from Instagram. His team collected over 150,000 selfies from 5 major cities to analyze cultural differences. They found that 4% of photos on Instagram are selfies. Differences between cities included Moscow having 4 times more women taking selfies than men, and young women in Bangkok taking many selfies. The data provides insights into demographics, poses, facial features and moods depicted in selfies across different regions.
