Why I'm a Therapist: Talkspace Therapists ShareMolly Enking
If you see a therapist, he or she will be interested in helping you live a better life, rather than “figuring you out” as stigma might lead you to believe. We learned this when we asked the hundreds of therapists in our network why they pursued therapy. Some also chose to share why they work for Talkspace specifically.
Keep reading to understand why people become therapists. If you feel one response speaks to you more than any other, that person might be the therapist for you!
1. The document discusses concerns about mental health medication use in Washington State Medicaid programs, including issues like inaccurate diagnoses, overprescribing of medications, high-risk patients, and regional variations in prescribing practices.
2. Data shows that antipsychotic drugs are a top expenditure and that some patients are prescribed multiple antipsychotics by multiple doctors, putting them at higher risk. Regional variations in excessive dosing were also found.
3. When data is shared across agencies and programs, it can help identify risks and reduce things like narcotic prescriptions, emergency room visits, and costs of care for high-risk patients.

Greening the Health Sector- Global Health Initiatives and Climate ChangeUNDP Eurasia
This document discusses greening the health sector and reducing its carbon footprint. It analyzes global health initiatives in the Europe and Central Asia region funded by the Global Fund. A carbon footprint analysis of grants in Montenegro and Tajikistan found the grants produced over 148,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, with over 95% from procurement-related scope 3 emissions. Reducing the health sector's environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions is possible through strategies like improving vehicle fleets, training programs, building energy use, supply chain management, and waste disposal. An interagency task force is developing green procurement guidelines for the health sector to engage suppliers and funders in promoting environmentally friendly solutions.
Based on the report from the Washington State Board of Health, this presentation, made to the State
and King County Boards of Health on December 13, 2007, suggests a public health model for approaching delivery
of mental health services.

Maternal and child health (MCH) services aim to provide comprehensive healthcare to pregnant women, mothers, and young children. The key goals are to reduce mortality and morbidity during pregnancy and childbirth, promote healthy growth and development of children, and regulate fertility through family planning services. MCH services include antenatal, natal, and postnatal care for mothers as well as immunizations, nutrition monitoring, and illness treatment for children from birth to age five. The document outlines the various components and objectives of MCH at each stage of care.
The document contrasts the characteristics of winners and losers. Winners have programs to succeed, offer help to others, see answers to problems and opportunities where others see challenges. In contrast, losers make excuses, see problems everywhere, and believe things are too difficult. The document encourages the reader to adopt a winner's mindset.
