The document discusses symbolic addressing and symbol tables in SIMATIC S7. Symbolic addressing allows assigning symbolic names to addresses for inputs, outputs, peripherals, and other elements to make the control program more readable and maintainable. The symbol table can be opened, edited by searching/replacing symbols, filtered, exported to file, and imported. Symbols can also be edited and selected directly from the ladder logic (LAD), sequential function chart (SFC), or function block diagram (FBD) editors.
