The bare walls of a high school were transformed when students created murals to cover them. Over 100 students from various organizations and backgrounds worked together on the project, not just art students. Images were projected onto the walls to help students design murals and allow non-art students to participate. In the end, the students were proud of their accomplishments and learned they could be creative through art.

This program evaluation report assessed a Texas after-school program called Be A Champion, Inc. (BAC) that operated learning centers across 9 campuses. The program aimed to improve academics, attendance, behavior, promotion rates, and graduation rates. It addressed community needs through a comprehensive needs assessment identifying that over 77% of students were economically disadvantaged and lacked supervision after school. The program provided academic, enrichment, and parental support activities to meet these needs. An analysis found the 9 campuses served had higher rates of low-income students, at-risk students, and those missing academic performance targets compared to district and state averages, indicating needs the program sought to address.
