DIRECTIONS FOR USEAND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The 5700 ride-on scraper is only intended for stripping adhered floor coverings. Any other use
is considered improper.
ATTENTION!
Improper use can cause injury to the operator and damage to the machine. Read the manual
thoroughly before use!
GENERAL RULES FOR SAFE OPERATION
• Read and keep all instructions for future use - Before use, be sure everyone operating this equipment reads and understands the manual and labels.
• Disarm machine - Remove cutting head attachment or drop cutting head to the floor when machine is not in use.
• Disconnect charger - Disconnect machine from the power source before use.
• Avoid dangerous environments - Do not use in rain, damp or wet locations or in the presence of explosive atmospheres. Remove materials or debris that may
be ignited by sparks.
• Dress properly - Do not wear loose clothing. Loose clothing might get caught in moving parts. Keep hands and gloves away from moving parts.
• Keep work area clean and well lit - Cluttered, dark work areas invite accidents.
• Check for damaged parts - Inspect guards and other parts before use. Check for misalignment, binding, improper mounting, broken parts or any other condition
that may affect operation.
• Guard against electric shock - Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, battery plug connections, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. Prior
to scoring or making cuts always check for hidden wires or pipes to reduce shock hazards.
• Do not force equipment - For best production rates, use equipment properly. Excessive force will cause operator fatigue, increased wear and reduced control.
• Keep hands and feet away from cutting edges and moving parts.
• Wear gloves when changing blades.
• Maintain control - Stay properly seated. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Maintain a firm grip.
• Do not abuse cord - Never unplug the battery charger by pulling the cord from the outlet or from the battery. Pull plug rather than cord to reduce risk of damage.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, cutting edges and moving parts.
• Stay alert - Do not use when you are tired, distracted or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any medication causing decreased control.
• Wear safety glasses, work boots and appropriate gear when operating equipment and working in the area.
• Do not “side hill” machine - Operate machine on level ground, never leave machine unattended on an incline (See Figure P).

Scraping, grinding, cutting, drilling of masonry, concrete, metal and other materials can generate dust, mists, and fumes containing chemicals known to
cause serious fatal injury or illness, such as Respiratory disease, cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Control dust, mists, and fumes at the
source where possible. In this regard use proper work practices and follow the recommendations of the manufacturer, OSHA, and occupational and trade
associations. When the hazards from inhalation of dust, mists and fumes cannot be eliminated, the operator and bystanders should always wear a respira-
tor approved by OSHA/MSHA for the material being cut.

ATTENTION: REMOVE CUTTING BLADE FOR TRANSPORT
• Ensure machine is turned OFF before transporting.
• Secure machine with recommended provided tie downs. (1 rear, 2 front) using
ratchet straps.
• Chock wheels to keep machine from rolling.
• Hydraulic levers should be in the “neutral” position (vertical, not pressed).
• Lift machine off swivel caster by lowering cutting head for better stabilization.
• Proper securing straps need to be rated at least twice the weight of the ma-
chine.
• Two forklift cups are mounted under the front of the machine, slide forks all the
way back till touching the rear tire. Tilt forks back to lift machine.
Preparation
1. Charge machine using 7’ 12 gauge (3 m,
2.5mm) extension cord in compliance with
the country of origins power requirements.
(Blinking red = charging, yellow = 80%
charge, green = 100%)
2. Charge batteries using on-board 48 volt
charger. Avoid charging when temperature
is less than 5°F or -15°C.
3. Remove charger plug from socket. Ma-
chine will not run while charging.
4. Ensure all moveable parts are free of ob-
structions.
5. Visually inspect all hydraulics, batteries,
and electrical connections for problems
(Leaks, corrosion, acidic build up, sparks,
arcing).
6. Lift lower cutting head support.
7. Loosen screws on lower cutting head.
8. Properly fit Blade into lower cutting head.
9. Tighten screws.
10. Attach lower cutting head and support with
pin.
Usage
1. Verify 70 amp Circuit Breaker is in
the ON position (Fig M).
2. Verify 48 volt blue plugs are firmly
connected (Fig N).
3. Operator should be properly posi-
tioned on seat.
4. Twist E-stop to “up” position expos-
ing green ring.
5. Push green “On” button (Fig O).
6. Maneuver machine with D & E (hy-
draulic drive handles).
7. Lower cutting head down with Hy-
draulic Lift Handle G and put pres-
sure on cutting head.
Transport
ATTENTION: ANGLE OF BLADE WILL VARY DEPENDING ON APPLICATION, AND SHARP-
NESS OF BLADE.
ATTENTION: THE SEVERE OF THE ANGLE OF THE BLADE, THE LESS WEIGHT SHOULD BE
ON THE MACHINE, AND THE GREATER THE RISK OF BREAKING THE BLADE.
1. Press E-stop button down.
2. Disarm the scraper by pulling the pin and removing the cutting head attach-
ment.
3. Insert transport wheels and replace pin.
4. Lower cutting head support to apply pressure to transport wheels.
5. Clean machine and parts. DO NOT get charger wet.
6. Using 7’, 12 gauge (3m, 2.5mm) extension cord, plug charger into power sup-
ply.
WARNING: MAKE SURE TO DISARM SCRAPER WHEN NOT IN USE OR LEAVING UNIT UN-
ATTENDED. REMOVE BLADE ATTACHMENT AND BLADE FROM THE FRONT OF SCRAPER.
