❖ Existence or Frequency: This is a key question in the coding process.
The researcher must decide if he/she is going to count a concept only
once, for existence, no matter how many times it appears, or if he/she will
count it each time it occurs. For example, "damn" could be counted once,
even though it appears 50 times, or it could be counted all 50 times. The
latter measurement may be interested in how many times it occurs and
what that indicates, whereas the former may simply look for existence,
period.
❖ अस्तित्व किंवा वारंवारता: कोडिंग प्रक्रियेतील हा एक महत्त्वाचा प्रश्न आहे. संशोधकाने ठरवले
पाहिजे की तो/तिने एखादी संकल्पना केवळ एकदाच मोजायची आहे, अस्तित्वासाठी, ती कितीही

❖ Expectancy: Effect any unconscious or conscious cues that convey
to the participant in a study how the researcher wants them to
respond. Expecting someone to behave in a particular way has been
shown to promote the expected behavior. Expectancy effects can be
minimized by using standardized interactions with subjects,
automated data-gathering methods, and double-blind protocols.
❖ अपेक्षा: अभ्यासात सहभागी झालेल्या व्यक्तीला संशोधकाने कसा प्रतिसाद द्यावा असे
वाटते ते कोणत्याही बेशुद्ध किंवा जाणीवपूर्वक संकेतांवर परिणाम करा. एखाद्या

❖ Expectancy table: A table used to analyze data
obtained from a categorical variable and a
criterion that is categorical.

❖ Experience questions: Questions a researcher
asks to find out what sorts of things an individual
is doing or has done.
❖ अनुभवाचे प्रश्न: एखादी व्यक्ती कोणत्या प्रकारच्या गोष्टी करत
आहे किंवा करत आहे हे शोधण्यासाठी संशोधक विचारतो.

❖ Experiment: A research study in which one or
more independent variables are systematically
varied by the researcher to determine the effects
of this variation.
