Dow Corning 41 grease is a silicone-based conductive grease designed to maintain low resistance between sliding metal surfaces and reduce noise from insulators. It forms a continuous electrical path between contact surfaces to prevent interference. The grease also prevents switches from sticking due to contact surface corrosion. It is applied by coating both contact surfaces of switches and reapplying as needed during maintenance.
