Tobacco causes about 40,000 deaths per year in Spain. It is forbidden to smoke in enclosed public places like schools and hospitals according to law. Smoking brings illnesses such as lung cancer, mouth cancer, coughing, and heart attacks. By 2015, there will be over 2.3 billion adults who are overweight and over 700 million with obesity worldwide due to diets high in calories but low in nutrients and less physical activity from more sedentary lifestyles and changes in transportation. Obesity increases the risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis, and certain cancers.
