It will also include a 2.1 hectare primary school site, over 16 hectares of public open space, and a local center with 622 square meters of retail space. The development will be constructed in phases from 2014 to 2026 with initial access provided via Dry Street and later phases accessing through an upgraded Nethermayne roundabout. Concerns about the development include increased traffic through the existing Dry Street village and impacts to protected open spaces.
The document provides information about the Gateway Upgrade North project, which involves upgrading the Gateway Motorway between Nudgee and Bracken Ridge to six lanes. Key points include:
- Lend Lease has been selected as the preferred contractor to design and construct the $1.162 billion project.
- Innovations to the original plan include future-proofing for eight lanes, adding an off-road pedestrian/cycle path, and improvements to reduce impacts on the Deagon Wetlands and racecourse.
- Safety and congestion will be improved through upgrades to interchanges, barriers, lanes, and intelligent transport systems. Changes to the Deagon Deviation will separate local and motorway traffic.
Metrolinx is a transportation agency that oversees various transit services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) including GO Transit, UP Express, and PRESTO fare payment. Their mission is to connect communities through transportation. Key projects mentioned include the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, which will be a 19km light rail line running mostly underground along Eglinton Avenue. The document provides details on the scope and status of construction for various sections of the project, including upcoming traffic restrictions to facilitate guideway and track installation at intersections along Eglinton Avenue East.
The document proposes a "Beaches to Bay Bus Express" as an alternative to the proposed Northern Beaches Road Tunnel. The bus express would use a dedicated tunnel for electric buses to provide high-capacity public transport between the Northern Beaches and destinations across Sydney. It would be built in four stages, with the first stage running from the Northern Beaches to Crows Nest. Subsequent stages would extend the route south through tunnels to Rozelle, Wolli Creek, and Miranda, connecting to heavy and light rail lines. The electric buses would provide fast, convenient service with fewer emissions than regular buses or private vehicles.
The Quander Road Walkway project in Fairfax County, Virginia involved constructing 1,800 feet of sidewalk, curb and gutter, a refuge island with ramps, drainage improvements, and road widening along Quander Road between Emmett Drive and Stokes Lane. The project was completed in June 2021 to provide safer connectivity for schools and neighborhoods. It was delivered using a design-bid-build approach and included relocating utilities, laying concrete, and replacing landscaping.
The document summarizes the Highland Creek Village Transportation Master Plan Public Information Centre #2, which sought feedback on the evaluation process, preliminary recommended transportation and servicing solutions, and preliminary design. Attendees could view information panels, speak with project staff, and participate in a presentation and question/answer session. Alternative 1 has been selected as the preliminary preferred alternative because it best supports improvements to multimodal transportation, the public realm, and economic development, while having moderate impacts on other criteria. It involves new intersections on Highway 2A with signals and the removal of the existing overpass.
The City of Toronto is studying a series of transportation projects, initiatives and polices to support the vision of the recently completed Highland Creek Village Area Study and re-development of the Highland Creek Village area. The mobility needs of local residents, employees, businesses and all road users will be considered.

1. The Department of Transport and Main Roads
would like your feedback on the draft plan
for the future upgrade of the Bruce Highway
between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine
Motorway.
We are planning for the future upgrade of this 7 km section of
highway by focusing on:
• upgrading the Bruce Highway/Sunshine Motorway
interchange
• upgrading the Bruce Highway/Caloundra Road
interchange
• widening the Bruce Highway from four lanes to six lanes
between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway
• providing a western service road by extending Frizzo
Road to Steve Irwin Way in the south, and Tanawha
Tourist Drive in the north.
The planning study aims to:
• identify a corridor for the future upgrade
• provide a road that will be adequate for future traffic
growth
• separate local and highway traffic
• provide immunity from a one-in-100 year flood event.
The future upgrade will benefit the community by improving
safety on the highway and at the interchanges, improving
capacity and transport efficiency, and upgrading flood immunity
to minimise traffic delays.
Why is the upgrade needed?
The Bruce Highway is the state’s main north-south route for
the transport of goods and services to regional and interstate
destinations.
It connects people to their workplaces, schools, hospitals; and
links tourists to the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
This section of the highway is carrying around 60 000 vehicles
per day and is approaching its capacity. This traffic volume is
expected to grow by four per cent each year.
The community has also expressed concerns about road safety
at the Frizzo Road northbound entry ramp to the Bruce Highway,
and at the Bruce Highway/Sippy Creek Road intersection.
Interim safety measures
The Australian Government has committed $13 million to carry
out immediate safety improvement works on the Bruce Highway
at Palmview. This will involve:
• extending Frizzo Road by 1.3 km to connect with Sippy
Creek Road
• upgrading the northbound entry ramp from Frizzo Road
to the Bruce Highway
• removing the Bruce Highway/Sippy Creek Road
intersection.
This interim safety project is expected to be completed by the
end of 2013.

Draft plan released
Bruce Highway Upgrade Planning Study
(Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway)
Bruce Highway/Sunshine Motorway interchange:
• new northbound entry ramp from the Sunshine Motorway to the Bruce Highway in the form of a ‘fly-over’ approximately
20m above ground level
• upgraded southbound ramps from the Bruce Highway to the Sunshine Motorway, and from the Sunshine Motorway to the
Bruce Highway
• new roundabout at the intersection of Crosby Hill Road, the western service road and Tanawha Tourist Drive.
Sunshine Motorway/Sippy Downs Drive interchange:
• upgraded overpass to provide additional traffic lanes
• new loop connecting to the Sunshine Motorway eastbound
• removal of the Sunshine Motorway entry and exit ramps on the western side of the interchange to improve safety and
traffic flow.
The entry and exit ramps on the western side of the Sunshine Motorway/Sippy Downs Drive interchange must be removed to comply
with the national safety standards for spacing between this interchange and the Bruce Highway/Sunshine Motorway interchange.
Motorists will be able to use the Sunshine Motorway/Dixon Road interchange or the western service road for local trips. This will
improve safety through the removal of conflicting lane changing and merging movements on the Sunshine Motorway.
Public displays will be held during December 2011
and January 2012.
We invite you to comment on the draft plan. Your
input will help shape future planning for the
upgrade.
Consultation closes mid-February 2012.
Where to from here?
Following community consultation, the department will
review the draft plan to incorporate feedback before
preparing a submission to the Australian Government
for funding for future project phases.
Western service road between Steve Irwin Way
and Tanawha Tourist Drive:
• extension of Frizzo Road to connect to Steve Irwin
Way in the south and Tanawha Tourist Drive in the north
• access to the tourism precinct off Frizzo Road, Glenview
Road, Martin Road, Sippy Creek Road, Cunning Road
and Wilson Road. It will also provide access to Pignata
Road, Laxton Road and Greenhaven Drive via an upgrade of
the Pignata Road underpass, including new traffic signals
• removal of the Frizzo Road northbound entry and exit
ramps to the Bruce Highway
• removal of the Pignata Road southbound entry and exit
ramps to the Bruce Highway
• connection of Wilson Road to Cunning Road and
removal of the Wilson Road intersection with the Bruce
Highway northbound exit ramp to the Sunshine
Motorway.
Bruce Highway/Caloundra Road interchange:
• new entry and exit ramps between the Bruce Highway
and Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way
• a new bridge over the highway and interchange loops
from Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way to the highway
• realignment of a section of Steve Irwin Way and a new
roundabout at the intersection with the western service
road.
Widening the Bruce Highway
The Bruce Highway will be widened from four lanes to six lanes
between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway, with
provision for eight lanes in the future. The speed limit on the
upgraded highway will be returned to 110 km/h, and immunity will
be provided from a one-in-100 year flood event.
