This document describes a new method for synthesizing robust free-standing nanomembranes of organic/inorganic interpenetrating networks. The method involves spin-coating reactive formulations containing both organic and inorganic precursors onto a sacrificial layer. Ultraviolet light induces polymerization of the organic components while residual humidity induces sol-gel formation of the inorganic network, creating an interpenetrating network. This allows simultaneous growth of the organic and inorganic networks during spin-coating. The films are then released by dissolving the sacrificial layer, resulting in macroscopically uniform nanomembranes around 35 nm thick with unprecedented mechanical strength and flexibility despite their nanoscale thickness.
This study investigated whether the previously observed association between pedophilia and lower IQ scores is influenced by the source of patient referrals. The study analyzed data from 832 male patients referred to a clinic for sexual behavior evaluations. Patients were assigned to groups based on their erotic preferences for children or adults, as assessed by phallometric testing. Results showed lower IQ scores and increased rates of non-right-handedness were associated with pedophilia, regardless of whether patients were referred by lawyers, parole/probation officers, or other sources. This supported the conclusion that the link between pedophilia and cognitive function is real and not due to referral biases. The findings were interpreted as evidence that neurodevelopmental problems may increase
This presentation discusses how the objectification and sexualization of women in media such as advertisements can contribute to the development of eating disorders and other psychological issues in women. It provides examples of advertisements and media images that treat women as sexual objects and promote unrealistic beauty standards. The presentation cites research from the American Psychiatric Association linking exposure to such objectifying media to increased rates of mental health issues like depression, low self-esteem, and eating disorders in women and girls. It argues that a broader societal shift is needed away from sexualizing women in order to improve women's mental wellbeing.

The document discusses opening scenes from several films, including Ghost Busters, Divergent, and Suicide Squad. For Divergent, the opening scene shows a destroyed city trapped inside an electronic cage, with people grouped according to their clothing. Symbols are shown that represent different factions, like fire for the Dauntless and hands for the Abnegation. The document asks how the author's opening scene compares to these examples and how they could develop their own opening scene, noting that displaying the film credits is important.

Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!

The exposure of sex and sexuality has changed dramatically over the years. For young teenage girls, television shows play a major role in their pasttime as networks like the CW, MTV, Much Music, etc. have scheduled programs that are adhere to the interest of teenagers. Shows like Gossip Girl, 90210, and Skins are all prime examples of hyper-sexualization in media involving adolescent girls. These shows tend to have very adult scenarios where young girls are portrayed in sexual ways. Topics about sex, drugs abuse and other adult content are amplified. Young girls being put in sexual scenarios puts them in compromising positions making them “prey” in the predator’s eyes. “Every parent’s nightmare” - Is that something to be proud of?soft porn masquerading as adolescent television? show video clip[In this promo forseason two, upper-class protagonist Serena (played by Blake Lively) and middle-class poet Dan (played by Penn Badgely) are on a bus. Serena instigates a series of increasingly seductive gestures, first offering him a magazine, biting into a chocolate-covered strawberry and voraciously sucking her fingers, falling into his lap, and finally grabbing him and leading him towards the bus toilet where they hook up.]- Discussion question:Do you think Serena’s actions are typical for women (in media or real life)? Do you think Dan’s actions are typical for men (in media or real life)? Why or why not?
“The TV teens are watching is getting racier,” says Jane Buckingham, founder and chief executive officer of Trendera, a consulting firm with expertise on younger generations. “It used to be all Nickelodeon and Disney; now Pretty Little Liars is a huge hit among tweens and teens. That is a scary show with a lot of sophisticated content.” The show, on ABC Family, is rife with sexual innuendo, mature language, stealing, lying and murder, plus a high school student has a sexual relationship with her teacher.A parent viewer had the following to say on Pretty Little Liars: “No redeeming messages to this one, just glamorizing bad morals. Hate it – glamorizes all the wrong things: Teacher and student lover affair, lesbianism, popularity, materialism, etc., etc.”
Oftenthese images of teen girls are consumed with actual sexual activity, sometimes even in inappropriate places like school property. For example, the British hit teen drama Skins is highly sexualized with young girls playing the roles of promiscuous, overly sexual individuals.
throughout the whole movie, all college-aged girls remain in their bikinis. the girls also engage in many sexual acts with multiple partners and use their bodies to get what they want the value reinforced here is that a female's body is the most important thing about her

17 years old at the time the video was released Is it too racy for someone who wants to break out of the Disney mold?- She may be growing up but many of her fans are still very young
From what we’ve gather so far, adolescent girls feel and believe that they are ready to embrace the sexuality that they have been shown without having the maturity to understand the meaning of it in depth. With these types of influences it can come as no surprise that young girls are becoming more sexually active at a younger age, are suffering more eating disorders and accept heterosexuality as being the only normal way to express their own sexuality.
