- #30, when you see this number what do you think of? Oh great I turned 30 now I’m so old now it’s time to get married and start a family. No. for me, #30 makes me think of the greatest basketball player today Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Who here has heard of the man Stephen Curry?
- For those who don’t know who Stephen Curry he is the #1 ranked player in the NBA right now according to Yahoo Fantasy Basketball. He went to school in Davidson a small college in North Carolina. He had a very successful college career and entered the NBA in 2009 drafted #7. He’s currently in his 7th season as the starting point guard on the Golden State Warriors. He helped the Warriors beat Lebron James Cavs to help the Warriors win their 2nd NBA title since 1975 40 years ago!
- His family is very athletic. Stephen’s father Dell Curry played in the NBA in the 1990’s and was known for shooting 3 pointers. Stephen’s mom Sonya used to play college volleyball at Virginia Tech. Steph has a younger brother Seth also playing in the NBA, he is also a great 3 point shooter. Steph has a younger sister Sydel who played college volleyball. Stephen’s immediate family has two very cute daughters Riley and Ryan. His wife, Ayesha is an actress.
- Stephen has a brother well not biologically related, called his Splash brother. Splash refers to making a 3 pointer. Together Stephen and his teammate Klay Thompson are known as the Splash Brothers because they make a lot of 3 pointers, the dynamic duo! Steph is #1 this season with 385 3’s while Klay is #2 with 268 3’s.
- Stephen has a lot of skills. He is best known to be a deadly 3 point shooter. He also is highly dependable to make big shots during clutch moments in the game. He can score the basketball in various ways from shooting to scooping the shot. Not only can he score but he has great court vision and loves getting his teammates involved by helping them score. - As the #1 player in the NBA, he has a very appealing brand. He currently is the main endorser for Under Armour. UA’s basketball shoe sales have doubled since last year, and Curry’s shoes have also increased 350% compared to last year. This is higher than any NBA player’s shoes except Michael Jordan.
- The Warriors and the 94-95 Bulls are the only teams in NBA history to win over 70 games in one single season. They have a chance to break the Bulls 72 win record with 73 wins. Will the Warriors make it? And be known as the Greatest team in NBA history?
- Outside of basketball Steph is involved with charity work such as Nothingbutnets- Which helps fight malaria. For every 3 pointer Steph makes he’ll donate 3 nets to the foundation. So far he has donated 2400 nets! Other foundations he’s a part of include the animal rescue foundation, and united nations foundation.
- In conclusion, #30 represents Stephen Curry, someone who is more than a great basketball player. He is a family man, humble, hard-working, dedicated to his craft, serves his community, and unselfish.
