4. Style. Soul. Substance. This Sista can Saang! She was born into music, grooving from birth to her father’s trap-set rhythms coupled with her grandfather’s double bass strumming. Several church choirs later, she was led to the University Chorale and then the University Singers, where the legendary Noel Dexter took her immense talents and honed them to near perfection. Here, she was shepherded into solo performances within the group, and learnt to overcome her fears of standing alone and extending her voice to the world. In her own words, at that time “Tina Simone was not fully present in the offering…” Fast forward ten years . In 2008, Tina Simone launched her debut recital, alongside her longtime friend Charles Moore. Presenting more of her classical background at the time, the two debutants “demonstrated to an appreciative audience that they are talented and dedicated singers. No one hearing them at their debut recital should be surprised if they go on to do well on the world stage.” The Gleaner, January 4, 2009. Fast forward another three years. The metamorphosis now complete, Tina Simone is now proudly unveiling her unique sound, etched in her spiritual background. She now marries her classical sound with a playful fusion of R&B, Funk, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Reggae, and Pop. Her recent major performances include the Heineken Star Stage performance at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2011 and well as the well received show, “All in the Mix”, sharing the stage with the likes of Ossie D & Stevie G, Boris Gardner and Benjy Myaz. She’s doing her own Thaang. A songwriter and poet, Tina Simone’s first poetry manuscript is being edited for completion and she is currently working on her debut album. This album will demonstrate the unique, silky sound that is Tina Simone. Through her writings and voice, she intends to deliver messages to uplift, challenge, inspire and motivate .

5. METAMORPHOSIS, an event planned for December 8 th , 2011 , will be a significant moment in the evolution of the Lovely Tina Simone as a Gifted Woman, a Performer Extraordinaire! METAMORPHOSIS will feature this Lady of Music in her debut full length show; backed by the Desi Jones led “Skool Band” . Two special Guest Artistes will perform alongside Tina Simone and the evening’s offerings will include genres such as Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Funk and Reggae . An experienced team of event organizers has come together specifically to ensure the success of METAMORPHOSIS .
