3. Jim’s groovy deep tech house meets Pablo’s
guitar flow a year ago on the road to festivals.
Last summer, they fuse and give birth to a men-
tal shamanic musical ride, which is first staged
at Petronelle de Papillon - colorful celebration
born in the mind of Paul Armand Delille (from
La SIRA, Paris).
This is just a start for this visionary collaboration
which will take them from Paris (Le Baron to
L’International,LeSocialClub…)toBerlin(Madame
Claude, Mein Haus Am See, Cookies, Sisyphos…).
Then home to some wild & intense studio ses-
sions at La SIRA.
5. Their ep — Panathénée — blooms from this
mixture of senses, trips and enlightenment. It is
an homage to the brightness and madness of
life. Its 4 tracks are energy sources, driving the
listeners and dancers to another stage of musical
pleasure. Jim & Pablo’s choice to stick to analogic
sounds and life-scenes recordings is a tribute to
the essence of rhythm which goes much beyond
machines. A pure and vibrant reverence to real
happiness and shared love.
6. Humble musique.
Dream with your ears wide open !
Founded in 2014, Humble musique is a newly
born music label within the walls of la SIRA
artist-factory located in the Paris outskirts. The
label aims to capture the sound of the musicians
that collaborate around this space with a wide
range of styles and an ecclectic approach.
9. This is the first track composed for this ep, with
a very special ceramic guitar (made by Alexis
Robineau) at La SIRA (Paris). It is a concrete
echo, inspired by the surrounding space of the
studio and the feeling of certain berliner clubs.
Although it starts in a certain dark or brutal
way, Siramik actually opens the door to the rest
of the ep through Pablo’s nostalgic and romantic
guitar solo. These harmonious notes (composed
in 1 shot!) launch the tone, making cold concrete
dance and giving matter a voice. A blue nostalgy
in the shape of a polished stone.
11. This composition actually started in Berlin with
NYE‘s recording of the city in feast & crazy
fireworks in the streets. To this rather violent
sound material were added warmer shamanic
and sexual recordings in studio like this Indian
girl friend, Joe’s jembe, the screams and of course
Pablo’s guitar. Nature is also very present through
the inspirations and sounds of water, fire, electri-
city, air and insects. Fiesta Für Fireworks is a mo-
vement towards the pleasures of mind & flesh. Its
very different rythms merge and form this deep
and beautiful shelter for a real fiesta. It somehow
gathers and rises in a universal way. Which is also
why its name is composed of Spanish, German
and English...
13. High Lake Dance carries on with this feminine
presence both shamanic and sensual. It leads to a
sort of fantastic cavern of endless love & dances,
surrounded by drops IN the ground, mystic
resonnances and lights. Its analogic hike and cli-
max drags the listeners & dancers into a psychic
movement in space: «Ailleurs». This whole track
can be seen, felt and heard as the human echo of
a high mountain lake.
15. This is exultation! This final track of the ep is an
ode to pure sharing and true essence. It praises
infancy & nature under the stars of a celebrating
village where women and men dance around
bond-fires. It is the peaceful and smiling awake-
ning of souls andsenses. It cuts out devices &
tricks to embrace Beauty and free Creation.
What happens here is quite unspeakable. Even
though Panathenee was the last track to be com-
posed, its explosion makes it the central birth of
the ep — which is also why it goes by this name.
20. JimCassady entersmusicasapianoplayer(classic
and jazz). After a rock’n’roll wave as a guitarist, he
gathers his multiple inspirations (Chostakovitch,
Mozart, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, The
Doors, Jimi Hendrix…) and opens his mind and
ears to electronic music.
Artists such as Acid Pauli, Massive Attack,
NU, Ricardo Villalobos and Stimming will
convince him for sure of the electronic creative
potential. These discoveries and his regular
trips to Berlin drove him into finally com-
posing his own tracks. In parallel, he keeps
DJing his favorite ones in parisian spots such
as Villette Enchantée, Panic Room, Dandy,
Pompon, Ptit Club, Point G, Chez Moune,
Maxim’s, Petit Bain…
21. As a music composer, he experiences a twist
when he meets Pablo by adding a live electric
guitar on his electronic voyage. Together they
create their first live which they will perform in
clubs and festivals around Europe. Jim is only 21
and yet quite promising if we look at his intense
collaboration with Pablo as well as his asso-
ciation with collectives such as Minimal Trip or
BeatX Changers and of course the release of his
first ep on Humble Record (Paul Armand Delille).
Jim’s music link with dance is also really strong.
He explores this sense of movement and touch to
music gathering people and bringing them closer
to pure happiness. His shamanic and indian
inspirations made him conscious that music
heals. Jim is not looking for pleasing the public
but to lift and enable the audience to see or feel
things people might have trouble reaching in the
everyday life. This is also why it is crucial for him
to work with musicians like Pablo whose instru-
ments and real touch connect in a poetic and
sensitive way to today’s electric machines.
24. Pablo is a self-taught guitarist who has been
enchanted by the sick, healing and transcendant
energy of rock’n’roll, jazz, funk and soul since
many years. Between 14 and 19, he is part of two
pop/rock bands:TheAndelandTheFunkyDandy
Corp. But soon rises the creative urge of going
beyond the instrument to get into the textures
of sound. He studies sound engineering and gets
hooked to sound design. He records Nature and
cities like Paris, Bombay or Glasgow. He is soon
very torn apart between this technical / scientific
approach of sound and the groovy / funky / jazzy
power of music.
25. Pablo’s only musical landmark is improvisation.
Giving an instrumental voice to the present
moment and see what happens with his fingers!
His experiences with electronic music, Axone
(Simon) and Jim Cassady opened the door to
a whole different universe which goes much
beyond clubbing. It somehow shares the same
transcendant side of rock’n’roll and space for
crazy / decadent solos. His electronic live act
with Jim also offers a range of musical colors,
special to each note — even if it is here reverbs,
bass or claps. Their duo goes with technique but
also pure instant creation and boiling live energy.
Each performance is like a volcano erupting in a
different and unique way on each stage, in front
of each crowd.
The dancing side of their music has become
vital in order to exteriorize and feed themselves
as musicians. The connection with the crowd
and how to drive it from one move to the other
is fascinating! Although, Pablo’s guitar touch is
still romantic and he tries to make each person
vibrate as much as he does on his guitar cords.
It is about transmission. And electro is one thing
but Ravel, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Prince and of
course Kandinsky are for sure core inspirations
which made colors blow in a constant move-
ment, the way Pablo loves it.

28. PANATHENEE EP is really about sharing and
exploring. Electronic music and sound design are
the future for now but Jim & Pablo’s approach
to it remains light enough to go further and not
to take it for granted. They want and need their
music to stay close to human vibrations and sen-
sations which is why instruments, vocals and
real-life sounds are so present in this ep. Their
fascination for infinite tones, expression spaces
and musical grooves enables them to penetrate
music and create it in their own way, through a
diversity of sounds and inspiring people fueling
their passion.
